Research Themes:

  • US Political Institutions
  • American Congress
  • Ideologies and political thought
  • Elections
  • Political Parties

Current Project:

My new book project is on “Compared Republicanims” between France and the United States. Since Tocqueville, the well-known « Sister Republics » framework is usually limited to their respective revolutions in the late 18th century. But this book will have a larger and more contemporary scope. Using political science, constitutional law and history, this project will try and identify the different facets of the republican traditions in both countries with an emphasis on the contemporary period (2nd half of the 20th century until nowadays).

Part of my research also deals with the changes taking place within political parties in the American context. I am especially interested in the consequences of the “defiance” that characterizes voters and party activists. Book chapters and articles should result from this line of work.
